Bharatpur Beyond Birds Pt2

By Divyakshi Gupta

The Palace was the personal block of the erstwhile rulers of Bharatpur

It has interiors with European influences, including fireplaces, ceilings, chandeliers especially seen in the arms section.

And beautifully carved wooden doors.

Then there is the intricate Baradari on the terrace

The highlight is of course the Turkish style Hamams with a blend of Persian & Rajput architecture,

These have intricate frescos and a natural ventilation and cooling system.

All in all, it is clearly one of the best museums I have visited in India.

A five minute uphill drive takes you to Kishori Mahal

This is generally closed for visitors but you can visit the courtyard and see the stunning exteriors.
