tReks in  tirthan valley:  Choie waterfall

By Divyakshi Gupta

Tirthan Valley in Himachal Pradesh is an idyllic valley for nature lovers & trekkers & is known for its umpteen treks

If you are staying near Banjar or Gushaini, opt for the fairly easy Choie Waterfall trek, perfect for beginners!

The Choie Waterfall trek starts in Gai Dhar village on the main Gushaini Road, after crossing Sai Ropa village.

You wont find any benches or signboards. A rustic, not concrete trail, amidst lots of greenery and small village houses enroute.

Choie waterfall comes in Great Himalayan National Park Ecozone and while there is no harm in doing this solo, I strongly recommend you take a local guide along.

After walking for about 45 minutes to an hour, you will hear the waterfall and then see it nestled in the greenery,

Choie Waterfall is also considered to be sacred by the locals because they worship the Choie Devta who is a local deity

Choie Waterfall is also a water source for Tirthan villages! A direct line goes from the falls to supply water to the villages!

This half day trek is a wonderful glimpse into the several treks Tirthan valley has to offer!
